Meet the Photographer
As a little girl, I loved looking through my mom's old photo albums and reliving the fun adventures I saw in them. There is nothing that immortalizes a moment like a photo, nothing that captures the love and respect between people like how they look at each other in a picture. I never set out to be a photographer. I didn't plan to start my own business.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 2009 and have worked in the field ever since. In 2015, my husband bought me a beautiful camera so I could stop using my phone for the precious moments I wanted to get of our children. In 2020, everyone's world shifted as the result of a global pandemic. My third and last baby turned 1 during this time- a huge milestone! I was upset that I couldn't have the big party with our friends and family like we had done for our older 2, and I was saddened by the fact that none of our loved ones really "knew" our newest family member. I decided to order a smash cake, a background, some photography lights, and do my own Cake Smash Session. What I didn't know at the time was how very much in love I would fall with photography.
So here we are. It is one of my favorite things to do- catch the moments and give them to their owners to keep forever. Thank you for going on this journey with me!
What Clients Are Saying
“We had an amazing experience with Jessie! She actually got my 4 year old to smile! And my husband (who almost never expresses strong positive feelings about professional services) thought she captured the best photo ever taken of our family! I absolutely agree, and we highly recommend JMPortraits!”
